November Highlights

How was your Halloween? Was it spooktacular? Bootastic? Witchsome?

Yeah, I’m out of spooky puns… πŸ‘»

By the way, this is my 100th post! Huzzah! πŸŽ‰ 🎊 πŸŽ‰ 🎊

Anyway.

Yarn Projects

So my Seaside Cardigan is still ongoing. I’m managing at least one row a night on the body. That may not sound like much, but it’s 400 stitches and my wrists are not super fond of all that work.

I do have three FOs, though: matching autumn slippers for me and a carer, and a spring floral pair for… a different carer!

Don’t they look spectacular?

And no, I haven’t finished my Cosmic Pop! mandala/blanket either. That’s in hibernation while I focus on more autumnal things. <_<

Sewing Projects

I haven’t made any paper crafts this month (taking a break from flip books like I said I would), but I started sewing a drawstring bag for my new tack-tack keyboard (non-affiliate link to Amazon).

I stitch by hand so it takes a while, but it turned out really cute. The fabrics I used are freaking adorable. The black gingham ribbon doesn’t match as well as I’d imagined, though.

In Other News

Meanwhile, I’ve been wondering about offering sticker sheets either as freebies here on my blog, or as printables in my shop. I already have some kits I designed for myself when I was using an Erin Condren planner, but I don’t have a printer anymore so testing is tricky and they need to be cut out by hand. That necessarily means there’s very little shape variation (they’re all rectangles, really) so I’m not sure if anyone would even be interested.

I don’t use all the title/odds-and-ends type stickers in my ECLP/Happy Planners, it’s mostly just the boxes, lists, washi and deco, so I’d offer these as single A4-sheet printable kits like the above (except, you know, actual printable quality lol).

Let me know in the comments if you’d be interested! I already have a few I could release, they just haven’t been tested.

From My Shop

I should probably have some Christmas goodies in my shop by now, but the plans I had for a hand-embroidered felt gingerbread man paperclip, a la the Boo Who ghosts, fell through (the die I use has too many holes in it) and I’ve been suffering a secondary infection that’s been causing quite a bit of discomfort and made crafting impossible for a while.

That said, almost everything in my shop would be a lovely little gift or stocking filler (especially the Woof You keyrings), so have it!

They’re not on ebay anymore, but they are in my Etsy shop.

Autumn On Our Instagram

So, because I skipped October Highlights in favour of releasing freebies for my writer friends, and we’re only a week into November anyway, I figured I’d do a seasonal feature instead.

And in Cat World, I actually fell for the Pets Prezzies band-wagon and bought KitKat a fluffy unicorn bed.

I don’t usually buy stuff if it’s part of a craze because I find reviews and hype unreliable. But KitKat deserves ALL THE BEDS, and there was a sale, and I’m a mug.

However, I do not recommend Pets Prezzies (which is why there’s no link). The bed took more than a month to arrive. While I was aware there would be a delay in dispatch per the website, I was not aware it was coming from China.

You know, the epicentre of the pandemic we’re currently suffering worldwide? Yeah.

I’ve been avoiding AliExpress and Chinese sellers on eBay. If I’d known Pets Prezzies were shipping from China, I wouldn’t have bothered, beloved cat or no.

That said, KitKat adores this bed. (It’s usually 50/50 whether she’ll appreciate something she’s given.) She kneads the crap out of it for at least half an hour every night, having never kneaded anything in the five years we’ve lived together. (A baker, she is not.)

She also sleeps almost all night in this bed (where we plonked it beside my bed, so I kind of feel like we’re sleeping together even though she’s very, very rarely actually done that) and sometimes even during the day (whereupon she refuses to get out even when the carers are here trying to steer my wheelchair around her).

It has been a marvellous success!

Just. Ugh. Chinaaaaaa.

  1. Sorry: KitKat. Got to get that punctuation right!

I don’t think KitKat cares, but I appreciate the correction, thanks! (It turns out I’m not nearly so clever and original at naming my cat as I thought I was. I’d never heard “KitKat” as a cat name before I got her, then I gave her that name and suddenly there are kitkats EVERYWHERE. πŸ˜‚)

      1. I don’t know of any KitKats, although bizarrely I know a TicTac!

That is a weird one! (I’m assuming it’s a cat/dog and that you’re not just talking about the mints…)

          1. Haha, it’s a cat! They have since also got a massive bruiser of a dog and TicTac puts him in his place!

While also being minty fresh, a la Louis Catorze, I would guess! xD (Unless he’s orange flavoured or something else. It’s been a while since I had tic tacs so I can’t remember what flavours they come in lol.)

Poor doggy, though. It’s always amusing for us when big bad-looking dogs get bossed around by tiny fluff balls, but I don’t imagine it’s fun for them.

              1. Ha! My cousin has 2 x 40kg Rhodesian Ridgebacks who would bark like crazy right in the face of the 5kg cat. And the cat wouldn’t even blink.

lmao. Why would it, though? Cats always (think they) know who’s boss!

I'd love to know what you think!
